Factory Mattress and Bedrooms in Shallotte, NC wants to make sure you have the best tools necessary for you to maintain your quality mattresses. Mattresses can often times be the host of your dead skin cells, sweat, stains, dust mites, etc. To keep your Mattress clean, we want to give you some quick and easy tips to clean your mattress yourself
1. Clean Mattress Cover and Sheets
This is the first line of defense for your mattress. It absorbs the most dirt, stains, etc on your mattress. Remove your mattress cover and sheets and put in the wash. Try buying a laundry detergent with a relaxing smell such as lavender. It’s not necessary, but it is a nice touch.
Put the hose on your vacuum and go over all the ridges and nooks on your mattress. You may want to do this a couple times over to assure you’ve gotten everything.
3. Spot Clean
The three products you’ll need are hydrogen peroxide, liquid dish soap, and baking soda. Mix these in a spray bottle and spray it on the stained area. Let it sit for few seconds and then gently dab at the area.
If you’d like a more natural option, you may want to go with lemon juice and salt. Apply this to the stain and let it rest for 30-60 minutes. Wipe off with a clean towel.
Very lightly sprinkle baking soda over your entire mattress. Let this sit for a couple of hours. Baking soda can absorb liquid, looming stains, and it also deodorizes any funky smells your mattress has absorbed. Once it has sat for a couple of hours, vacuum your mattress one more time.
